WEATHER IN Chennai
Chennai is known for its humidity through the year. Its long summer season is followed by prolific monsoon rains and short, mild winters.
Winter in Chennai lasts from November to mid-February, during which time temperatures range from 77 °F (25°C) during the day, to 66 °F (19 °C) at night. This is the known as the most pleasant time to visit the region.
Chennai’s summer lasts from March to mid June, at which time temperatures range from 82 °F to 105 °F (28-42°C). Between June and August the monsoon rains average 300millimetres. By mid September, the rains start to cease and temperatures also reduce.
If you are travelling to Chennai during the summer months, we recommend you wear loose clothing made from natural fabrics. During the winter months, you may wish to carry a sweater or shawl for the evenings.
